Diddy wants a piece of Simon Cowell’s ‘Idol’ paycheck
Add Diddy’s name to the growing list of celebrities in the mix to replace Simon Cowell on “American Idol.”

The rap mogul, it seems, got a look at Cowell’s paycheck from his “Idol” days — and he wants a piece of it.
“At first when people were asking me if I was interested in the job I was like no … that’s not my style,” Diddy told George Lopez on Wednesday’s “Lopez Tonight.” “But once I heard what Simon makes … [I] would love the job. I’ve got six kids. If I would get the same check Simon gets … we would have a ball.”
Diddy joins a slew of big names that have been bandied around since the Brit announced his departure, including Justin Timberlake, Elton John, Bret Michaels, Shania Twain, Chris Isaak and Harry Connick, Jr.
As of yet, no replacement has been announced.
